Walking Dead Goniastrea, dark, moody flesh with radioactive eyes glowing straight through it. This collectable encrusting Goniastrea develops a wonderfully unusual mixture of deep red, burgundy and dusky purple, with subtle green tones running through the textured flesh.

The centres are where this piece comes alive. Each corallite develops an intensely fluorescent yellow-to-neon-green eye, surrounded by fiery orange and red that seems to radiate outward into the darker tissue. Under reef lighting they genuinely look as though they’re glowing from beneath the surface.

It’s an easy, rewarding coral to keep and steadily encrusts outward as the colony matures, repeating those luminous eyes across the new growth. The darker palette also makes it a fantastic contrast piece amongst brighter greens and blues.

Dark purple, blood red and sickly radioactive-green eyes — Walking Dead looks like it crawled out of the apocalypse and straight into the reef.
