ThunderCat is a seriously unusual tabling Acropora — bright peach-pink, cool teal-blue and a colour combination that looks almost too clean to be real.

The name is a little nod to the classic 1980s ThunderCats cartoon, with the coral’s warm orange-peach tones and electric blue highlights immediately bringing Lion-O’s colour palette to mind.

Growth-wise, this isn’t a thick, densely packed table. It develops a more open, sparse tabling structure, with smaller branches spreading outward and plenty of space between them, giving the colony a lighter, more architectural look as it matures.

The colour separation is one of its best features. Soft peach and pink dominate the upper growth, while teal-blue and turquoise tones come through beneath and around the branch edges, creating very clear contrast between the warm and cool colours.

Bright, distinctive and completely different from the usual dense tables — ThunderCat has the sort of colour and structure that should become even more impressive as the colony spreads out.
