Java Rainbow Milli, a proper old-school Indonesian rainbow Millepora with a darker, moodier palette that rewards you when it’s really happy. Originating from Java, this Acropora develops a complex mixture of deep purple and magenta through the branches, with contrasting green, orange and warmer golden tones appearing through the corallites and lower growth.
The colour is anything but uniform. Different areas of the colony can lean heavily towards purple and burgundy, while others develop brighter orange, green and gold. The growing tips can take on cooler pale blue-to-violet tones, giving a mature colony considerably more colour separation than you might expect from a young frag.
Being a Millepora, it also has that wonderfully dense, textured appearance, with closely packed corallites and plenty of polyp extension when settled. As it grows into a colony, the combination of branching structure and changing colour gives it a proper wild-reef appearance.
Deep purple, rich magenta, green, orange, gold and cool contrasting tips — Java Rainbow Milli is dark, complex and beautifully different from the usual rainbow Acros.
